You desire to dive all year round, but colder water keeps you from enjoying it. Take the PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty Course because diving in cold water requires a different set of skills and knowledge than diving in warm water.
Diving dry is a strange feeling. A dry suit is excluding water almost completely and keeps you comfortable in colder water. Staying warmer and using less energy to move around means that a dry suit diver tends to use more air. There is still incredible diving here in the Red Sea during the colder months and it would be a sin to miss it. Becoming a dry suit diver allows you to expand your boundaries and dive more places, more often.
You can adhere to the PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty Course if you are at least 10 years old and you have the PADI Open Water Diver certificate in your possession.
The first thing that you will discover is which dry suit style and accompanying undergarments are right for you and the diving you will do. Diving with a dry suit requires a different approach to weighting, buoyancy control and gear maintenance and repair.
What will you learn:
- Putting on and taking off your dry suit with minimal assistance.
- An introduction to the different types of dry suits
- Mastering buoyancy control using your drysuit.
- Dive safety procedures while using a dry suit.
- Basic maintenance and minor repair techniques.
Of course, you will need a dry suit to follow this course along the rest of your basic diving equipment. Your local instructor will explain additional gear options you may need to dive comfortably with your drysuit.
The PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty Course consists of an orientation dive in confined water before completing 2 open water dives.
